Carbonless copy paper is a type of paper that makes a copy when you write on it. Carbon paper does the same thing. However, what sets carbonless copy paper apart is that it is totally safe to put the paper in a laser scanner or copier because it doesn't have any carbon that will damage the equipment. One of the most effective places to use this type of paper is a doctor's office. There are two good reasons why you should go to a doctor's office that uses carbonless copy paper.      

1. It Saves Everyone Time

When you go to a doctor for the first time, you have to get there fifteen to twenty minutes early in many cases so that you can fill out paperwork. This is annoying because you are usually given a pen that doesn't work well and have to work on a tiny clipboard in order to answer all of the questions. Many of the questions are very similar and you might end up printing your name many times.

If a doctor's office uses carbonless copy paper, they can layer your forms so that you don't have to fill out the same information over and over again. For example, you can write your name, the date, and your birthday on the top form and, if the forms are designed correctly, this information will show up in the correct locations on all of the other forms. You will still have to read and sign each form individually, but you won't have to print all of the mundane information.

It also saves doctors a great deal of time because once you fill out these forms, they can be digitized immediately. Before, office assistants had to manually enter all of the information that you wrote down. Now, they can just scan the form into the computer and store it in a secure cloud storage center.

2. It Makes Collaboration Easier

A second reason why carbonless copy paper is awesome in a doctor's office is that it allows doctors to collaborate. If you have an illness that has a lot of complications, you might need to talk to many different medical specialists and they might all need to coordinate with one another in order to make sure that you get the correct treatment. If they are able to immediately copy any notes that they had to make when they talk to you, they can get the information to all of the other specialists in a short period of time.
